TikTok Diamonds to USD: How Much Creators Earn per Gift
Updated: 18/10/2026
TikTok doesn't publish what a Diamond is worth. Its policy says gifts are converted into Diamonds "at a rate of conversion to be determined by us from time to time in its absolute and sole discretion". Public estimates for 2026 put the creator's share between $0.002 and $0.005 per coin received: a 29,999-coin Lion would leave the creator roughly $60 to $150.
Quick summary
- The sender pays in coins; the creator receives Diamonds. They are not the same thing and aren't worth the same.
- Third-party estimates: the creator keeps between about 20% and 50% of what the sender paid.
- Diamonds can't be bought or swapped back into coins, according to TikTok.
- The final payout also depends on other factors in TikTok's rewards policy.
What are TikTok Diamonds?
Diamonds are a virtual item TikTok uses to measure a creator's popularity. They come mainly from gifts received during LIVEs, and also from missions or campaigns. With them, a creator may qualify for rewards, including cash, if they meet the requirements: being 18 or older and living in a country where the feature is available.
Under TikTok's Virtual Items Policy, users can't buy Diamonds, can't transfer them to another account and can't exchange them for coins or gifts. In other words, the flow only goes one way: coins → gift → Diamonds → reward.
How much is a TikTok Diamond worth in dollars?
There's no official figure. Public calculators work with two assumptions: that the creator gets about half the gift's value (around $0.005 per coin sent, as Coinvertify and StreamRio estimate) or noticeably less ($0.002–0.0025 per coin, as Lincora and Postlink estimate). Real figures vary by country and account.
For context, the sender pays about $0.0104 per coin on TikTok's official US website and about $0.0143 in the app. If the creator receives $0.005 per coin, that's half the web price; at $0.002 per coin, it's about a fifth.
How much does a creator earn from each gift?
Using public estimates, a Rose (1 coin) is worth less than a cent to the creator, a Diamond Gun (5,000) between $10 and $25, a Lion (29,999) between $60 and $150, and a Universe (44,999) between $90 and $225. These are rough ranges: TikTok doesn't publish the rate and can change it.
| Gift | Coins | What the sender pays (≈ USD, web) | Creator estimate (USD) | Creator estimate (GBP) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rose | 1 | 0.01 | 0.002–0.005 | < 0.01 |
| 1,000 coins in gifts | 1,000 | 10.40 | 2–5 | 1.50–3.75 |
| Diamond Gun | 5,000 | 52 | 10–25 | 8–19 |
| Phoenix | 25,999 | 270 | 52–130 | 39–98 |
| Lion | 29,999 | 312 | 60–150 | 45–113 |
| Universe | 44,999 | 468 | 90–225 | 68–169 |
Our calculation at $0.002 and $0.005 per coin (range from Lincora, Postlink, Coinvertify and StreamRio, checked 18/10/2026). Sender price: $0.0104/coin on tiktok.com/coin (16/10/2026). GBP at the 18/10/2026 rate.

Why does the creator get less than the sender pays?
Because there are several layers in between: the app store fee if the coins were bought in the app, the share TikTok keeps when converting gifts into Diamonds and, at withdrawal, possible payment fees and taxes. TikTok's policy doesn't spell out the split.
On top of that, TikTok's Rewards Policy says payouts don't depend on Diamonds alone: factors such as LIVE duration, engagement and content quality also count. That's why two creators with the same number of Diamonds can see different amounts.
How do you check and withdraw your Diamonds?
To check your balance: in the app, tap Profile, open the ☰ menu, go to Balance and then LIVE rewards. TikTok shows your Diamonds and available rewards there. To withdraw, you must meet the age, country and account requirements and follow the process shown in the app.

Which Diamond myths should you ignore?
The most widespread one is "1 Diamond = 1 coin = 1 cent". It isn't: the sender pays more than the creator receives. Another myth is that Diamonds can be bought or turned into coins; TikTok's policy forbids it. And be careful with anyone offering to "buy your Diamonds": that breaks the rules.
- Sites selling Diamonds or swapping them for cash outside TikTok go against its policy, at the very least.
- If you want to support a creator, gift coins can be bought from TikTok or, with due caution, from independent sellers like CoinTok, which accepts crypto only and isn't affiliated with TikTok. Packs are in the CoinTok packs section.

FAQ
TikTok doesn't publish the conversion. Public calculators use two assumptions: 1,000 Diamonds per 1,000 coins, or 500 Diamonds, meaning two coins per Diamond. In money terms, both assumptions land at roughly $2 to $5 for the creator per 1,000 coins received in gifts.
It depends on the rate TikTok applies, which isn't public. Using the $0.005 per Diamond value that several calculators mention, 10,000 Diamonds would be about $50 before fees and taxes. Other sources use lower values. The exact figure appears in the rewards section of your app.
TikTok's Rewards Policy says that, unless a programme states otherwise, your ability to receive a reward expires two years from the date you first became eligible for it. Check in the app whether you have rewards waiting to be claimed and the specific terms that apply in your country.
No. TikTok's Virtual Items Policy prohibits selling, transferring or assigning Diamonds to another user or third party, and says accounts that do so may lose their Diamonds or be terminated. Be wary of any service offering to buy or move your Diamonds.
