How to Buy TikTok Coins for Someone Else (and Why You Can't Transfer Them)
Updated: 21/10/2026
You can't transfer TikTok coins from your account to someone else's. TikTok's Virtual Items Policy (last updated 22/01/2026) says coins can't be assigned, transferred or given away except where TikTok expressly allows it. If you want to gift coins, the practical way is to top up the other person's username directly: on CoinTok you just enter their @username, pick a pack and the coins land in their account, with no password involved.
Quick summary
- Coins stay tied to the account that receives them: there is no "send coins" button.
- Sending a gift in a LIVE doesn't transfer coins: the creator gets Diamonds, not spendable balance.
- To gift balance, you top up the other person's account using their username.
- Never ask for or hand over a password to "move" coins.
Can you transfer TikTok coins to another account?
No. Coins are a "Virtual Item" licensed for personal use. TikTok's policy says they can't be bought, sold, assigned, transferred or given away outside what the platform permits, and unauthorised transfers can lead to losing the balance or the account. There is also no official feature to move balance between two profiles, even if both are yours.
What does exist is gifting inside a LIVE or on a video. But the policy is explicit that when you gift "you are not transferring money, Coins, or anything of value": the gift turns into Diamonds for the creator, who can't use them to send gifts. The mechanics are covered in how to send gifts on TikTok LIVE.
How do you gift TikTok coins to someone?
There are four options, but only two are worth using:
| Option | What the other person gets | Need their password? | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| CoinTok top-up with their @username | Coins in their balance (plus included gifts on some packs) | No | Pay with crypto (USDT, BTC, ETH) |
| Official TikTok gift card | A code they redeem at tiktok.com/coin | No | Only in countries where TikTok offers it |
| Sending gifts in their LIVE | Diamonds (if they are a creator) | No | Gives them no balance to spend |
| Logging into their account to recharge | Coins | Yes | Not recommended: security flags and account theft risk |

Topping up by username is the most direct route: the recipient doesn't need to do anything and nobody shares login details. Keep in mind that buying coins from a third party isn't backed by TikTok, whose policy says coins are bought from TikTok.
What do I need to top up someone else's TikTok?
Only their exact username (the one shown with @ on their profile). Copy and paste it from their profile, because one wrong letter or dot sends the coins to a different account. The recipient must also be an adult: TikTok requires users to be at least 18 (19 in South Korea) to buy and use coins and gifts.
- Ask for their @username or copy it from their profile.
- Choose a pack in the CoinTok coin packs.
- Paste their username and tick "I've checked the username is correct".
- Pay with crypto (USDT, BTC, ETH) and tell them to check Profile → Settings and privacy → Balance.
How many coins should you gift? Packs and prices
It depends on what they want to do. 5,000 coins cover several mid-range gifts; 10,000 cover a big gift and also include the Diamond Gun. CoinTok prices on 21/10/2026, with pounds as a reference (ExchangeRate-API, 21/10/2026):
| Pack | Price | ≈ GBP | Included gift |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5,000 coins | $49 | £37 | — |
| 10,000 coins (best seller) | $79 | £59 | Diamond Gun |
| 25,000 coins | $164 | £123 | Black Bear + Treasure Chest |
Included gifts unlock in the same account that receives the coins, so they also go to the person you are topping up. To see what each amount can buy, check the TikTok gift price list.

What risks should you avoid?
- Don't ask for their password. Logging into someone else's account to recharge can trigger security checks, and it is exactly how scams work.
- Ignore anyone offering coin "transfers". Moving balance between accounts isn't possible; we explain the tricks in why free TikTok coins are a scam.
- Check the username twice. A top-up or gift sent to the wrong account can't be moved afterwards.
If you want to top up your own account, see how to buy TikTok coins. CoinTok is an independent service and is not affiliated with TikTok.

FAQ
Not as a transfer: TikTok doesn't let you move coins from one account to another. What you can do is top up their account directly using their @username, without their password, or give them an official TikTok gift card if one is sold where you live.
No. Each account has its own balance and there is no official way to move it, even if both accounts are yours. Before buying, make sure you are logged into the account you will actually send gifts from.
They will see the new balance in their account under Profile, Settings and privacy, Balance. If you want it to be a surprise, top them up just before a big LIVE and tell them to check.
Coins go to the account you enter, which is why CoinTok asks you to confirm the username before paying. If you make a mistake, contact support right away with your order number; once coins are credited to another account, they can't be moved.
