To send a gift on TikTok LIVE, join the stream, tap the gift icon at the bottom, choose a gift and tap Send. If you don't have enough coins, the app offers to recharge. You must be 18 or older (19 in South Korea) and be in a country where gifting is available.

Quick summary

  • LIVE: gift icon → choose → Send.
  • Videos: Comments → gift icon next to "Add comment" → choose → Send.
  • If it won't work: age, country, Restricted Mode or account restrictions.
  • Sent gifts can't be refunded: check the price first.

How do you send a gift on TikTok LIVE?

Open the LIVE, tap the gift button in the bottom bar, swipe through the panel to the gift you want and tap "Send". The coin cost appears under each icon and is deducted from your balance immediately. If you're short of coins, tap "Recharge", choose a package and complete the payment.

  1. Join the creator's LIVE.
  2. Tap the gift icon. The panel opens with your balance at the top.
  3. Swipe to the gift. Cheap ones such as the Rose (1 coin) come first; expensive ones such as the Lion or the Universe come last.
  4. Tap the gift, then "Send".
  5. Your name and the gift appear in the stream for everyone to see.

How many coins each gift costs is in the TikTok gift price list.

How do you send gifts on a TikTok video?

Open the video's comments and tap the gift icon next to "Add comment". Choose the gift, recharge if needed and send it. This only works on videos from creators who meet the video gift requirements, so you won't see the icon everywhere.

According to TikTok, the creator needs a personal account, at least 10,000 followers, an account that's at least 30 days old and a public video posted in the last 30 days. Duets, Stitches, ads and sponsored content can't receive gifts. Requirements may vary by country.

Why can't I send gifts on TikTok?

The most common reasons are being under 18 (or TikTok thinking you are), being in a country without gifting, having Restricted Mode turned on, the creator having gifts switched off, or restrictions on your account. Your balance may also be too low, or the recharge payment may have failed.

If TikTok restricted your account for age by mistake, the app lets you appeal from the notification; according to its help pages, you have 180 days.

Where do the coins for sending gifts come from?

Coins are bought in the TikTok app, on the official tiktok.com/coin website or, with due caution, from independent sellers such as CoinTok, which delivers them to your username and accepts crypto only. Whichever route you take, the gift is sent the same way: from the LIVE gift panel.

  • Recharging inside the app: see how to recharge TikTok coins.
  • With CoinTok: pick a pack in the packs section (from 5,000 coins for $49), enter your username without a password and pay in BTC, ETH, USDT or other cryptos at checkout. Cards are not accepted.
  • TikTok's policy says coins should be bought from TikTok; third-party purchases aren't backed by TikTok. CoinTok is not affiliated with TikTok.

Can you send gifts on TikTok for free?

No. Every gift costs at least 1 coin, and coins are paid for. Sites and apps promising to "send gifts for free" or "fake gifts" only show animations the creator never receives, or they're simply after your password. The closest thing to free is joining a Fan Club with a "Heart Me", which costs 1 coin.

How to spot these traps is explained in why free TikTok coins are a scam.

FAQ

Yes, on videos that accept gifts. The gift icon sits next to the field for adding a comment and, once sent, the gift is attached to your comment and visible to the creator. If you can't see the icon, the creator doesn't meet the video gift requirements or the feature isn't available in your country.

After sending a gift you can tap it again to send another, and each send deducts its coin price. Before you do, check your balance at the top of the panel. If you plan to spend a lot, it's usually better to pick one higher-value gift than to tap a small one many times.

Yes. Under TikTok's Virtual Items Policy, gifts are sent publicly: the creator and other users can see your name, your user ID and the gift. That's why your name pops up in the stream and, if you send a lot, in the LIVE's top supporter rankings.

There's no undo button: coins are deducted instantly and converted into Diamonds for the creator. If you think there was a technical fault, contact TikTok from Settings under Report a problem. To avoid it, always check the gift's name and price before you tap Send.
